Lookie: Knobs!

So I oggled a sound board at one of my favorite music venues last week. I'm not very good with the audio part of A/V, but I'm learning.

I have it on good authority that real audio geeks like knobs. This must be a sweet board.

There was a photo shoot with a bunch of music bloggers going on in the background, but you'll have to check out the Riverfront Times to find out more about that.

Greensburg after Dark: Minatures in Windows

According to the Trib's website: "the 5th Annual Miniature Parade of Trees benefits the Tribune-Review's Operation Santa Claus... Customers vote on their favorite by making monetary donations."

The mini trees were in the Just Miniature Scale dollhouse shop window, just down the sidewalk from this scene:

The BBQ - After the Sun Went Down

I got bug bites. I don't think my decoy people were working for me. Or the citronella candles, for that matter.

Lambert St. Louis International Airport

Waiting for Julie's flight. The East Terminal is amazingly empty at 1am.

Shopping at 2am when you know you're not going to want to get up and to in the morning

Last week we stayed out late Friday night for a going away party. On the way home, Julie remembered she needed a few more ingredients for the chili she was making for another party Saturday night. The Hampton Village Schnuck's is pretty quiet at 2am on a Saturday.

How could this tree end up in the clearance section? It's tall, skinny & askew - perfect for a city house!

Monday night on I-20 east bound

Julie & I ran into a little traffic jam Monday night trying to get to Mom's. Someone wrecked in Anniston, and we got stopped in the backup about 20 miles west. We'd been on the road for about 10 hours when we ran into this. After sitting there for about an hour, we finally got moving again. We got into Bremen about 11:45pm est.

I took lots of silly pictures to keep myself from fidgeting too much. Julie is such a wonderful sport.

Happy Thanksgiving, folks. Be careful out there.

Saturday Night at the Moonlight Ramble

Julie & the girls rode the 20 mile Moonlight Ramble again this year. Not me. I don't do crowds, especially on a bike. I did go downtown with Julie when she picked up her shirt at 9:00. That gave me plenty of time to clear out before the serious crowds lined up at midnight.

Friday night @ After

We decided to check out the new diner on Manchester, After. I had a lot of fun. I'm not saying the food was perfect or anything like that. I'm just saying I had a really good time. To be fair, I'm sure they've never had a party of nine at 7:30 on a Friday night before. Their crowd shows up later, after the bars start closing. (One of the 4 Purdue grads at the table mentioned West Lafayette's XXX Diner, but that's another story.) Anyway, Julie's mac & cheese was wonderful, and my patty melt w/ fries was great. Maybe Julie will give you the details of the great meatloaf debacle - followed by the icy Icelandic cod, the cheerfully denied water, and the forgotten omelet. I'm really just here for the pictures.

Every scrap of mac & cheese cheerfully disappeared.

Here's our 9 scoop sundae, reassembled. Our waitress, realizing how difficult it would be to build an appetizing 10 scoop sundae, offered to break it up into individual bowls for us.
