I respect the idea behind this, and am always happy to see intelligent talk about autism. Has anyone read this? I glanced through the first volume. It seemed a little didactic. Then melodramatic. Then didactic again. It didn't feel exploitative, though, so my crack about the Hallmark Channel is probably uncalled for.
Actually, what I thought when I was skimming Volume 1 was more like: "If I had already lived through this, if I had an autistic baby, if I had already had to fight these fights, wouldn't this book just bring me down?"
