After the Reading @ The City Museum

Folks gathered at The City Museum for drinks and conversation after the reading.

I love the fun of this place.

The photo booth is an oldie but a goodie. None of this digital nonsense. You have to wait and stare and wait and shake and wait as the picture slowly appears.

It was loud and busy, but I was really impressed by Alison Bechdel's willingness to sit around after a long day and chat.

After the Reading in the Central West End

There's always something slightly odd to see in the CWE.

It was quite a crowd. Left Bank was beyond party capacity.
It was the place to check up on old girlfriends Saturday night.

The author gave us a digital slide show of panels from Fun Home
as she read the connecting text.

Did I mention I really enjoyed this book?
And not just because it had pictures.
I read the words, too.

Intellegent words, well drawn panels.
I didn't realize how painstakingly accurate the details were
until she talked about her process.
It just looked right, and she put a hella lot of effort in getting it there.
