Happy New Year

Tonight for dinner I filled Grandmother's cast iron skillet with homemade cornbread, made with buttermilk and everything. The black-eyed peas cooked all afternoon with scraps of ham from Christmas. We didn't eat any pork chops, kielbasa or sauerkraut, but I'm hoping the tradition enforcing agents will be lenient.
